Who am I exactly?

stephanie

That’s me, and my favorite beer.

Well – my name is Stephanie, and I’m 28 years old.  I live in the suburbs of Washington DC and work in the IT field as a project manager for custom software implementations.  I am highly opinionated, often controversial, and generally don’t hold the same opinion as the rif-raf in the DC area.  An ok-cupid test rated my personality as “The Playstation”.  Easy to turn on – hard to beat.

I think the trait that most describes me would be “jack of all trades, master of none”.  You see, I’ve been blogging since I was 14 (as proof by this Washington Post article that was written when I was 17).  Since then, I have done the following things in my life:

1.  Become an author, which is crazy.  I wrote a book because I was pissed off at A.H.Helmi for the way our relationship ended.
2.  Reached a place in my career where I’m happy with my job, and what can I do.
3.  Volunteered in the community enough to get various awards for my service.

Me and my trainer!

I’ve had a never ending battle with my weight.  Recently, I’ve learned how to control it with the help of Title Boxing in Herndon.  My trainers there are amazing.  I lost 40 pounds in 3 months.  Right now I’m in the process of personal training and I hope to actually get in the ring with someone eventually.

My best friend is an ex of mine named Mike.  (See, if I write that we dated I’ll immediately get a message from him saying, “We weren’t dating!”)  I wouldn’t trade him for the world and he is pretty much the reason I don’t totally lose it and go batshit crazy on a daily basis.  You’ll see a lot of him on this blog in various ways.   He is overly obsessed with Futurama and bondage, so ladies, if you’re in the DC area and those two things turn you on a little, you should check out his okcupid profile.  (That I wrote – because I’m awesome!  But don’t worry, it’s actually him responding.)

Why howmanyfrogs?

Howmanyfrogs.com was started about two years.  Technically – I bought the domain three years ago with the idea of creating a blogging site to write about my adventures in dating.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have any adventures in dating because right after I bought the domain – I started dating a friend of mine from middle school/high school - Zack.  Zack and I obviously didn’t work out, and I ended up keeping the domain name and blogging here through A.H.Helmi and now today.  I don’t know when I’ll change the name – probably when I find someone to settle down with… which is kind of seeming like never at this point.
