Hamburger Pie – When Traditional Hamburgers Get Boring
categories: Cooking
Today’s recipe of awesomeness is brought to you by Ken, who heard that I was doing guest posts all week of people’s favorite recipes and sent me his mothers hamburger pie, which I am actually very excited to make because it sounds easy and delicious! :)
This was the conversation on twitter:
Ingredients:
- Deep dish frozen pie crust (Mrs. Smith)
- 1-1.5 pounds of hamburger
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt/pepper (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons Worchester sauce
- 3 eggs
- 8 oz finely shredded mild cheddar cheese
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350
- In a pan, brown and crumble the hamburger, then add seasonings
- When the hamburger is all brown, add Worchester sauce
- Pour the mix into the pie crust
- In a separate bowl, scramble the eggs and mix in the cheese
- Evenly layer the mix on top of hamburger
- Put pie in the oven for 30-35 minutes (until cheese is golden brown)
- Serve hot
