Help Me Purchase A New Laptop

My hard drive died last night in my desktop.

Three weeks ago, I broke the screen on my netbook.

Also, two weeks ago, I broke the screen on my smartphone.

I’m not having luck with electronics lately, is what I’m trying to say.  Unfortunately, (or fortunately, considering how much I have to replace) I’ve been getting a couple excellent contracts in to do website work.  That means I need to have my hard drive replaced in my desktop, as well as a laptop to take and meet the clients with.

I was thinking Sony Vaio.

Mike tells me that I should go Mac.

What do you think?

Even though I do web work with ASP.NET on a Windows machine, I use Macs at home. I’ve got an Air laptop and a Mac mini desktop – I run VMWare Fusion to run a copy of Windows 7 on the mini. I’ve never used Sony for computers, but the last experience I had with a Windows laptop (a freakin’ heavy HP with *shudder* Vista) had it crash on me inside a year. That’s when I switched to Mac.

I actually went with a cheapie ASUS that was on sale at Best Buy. My netbook was an ASUS that I *loved* until I crunched the screen with my fatass when I rolled over on it – so I kept with it. :)

So far it’s been running the Adobe CS Suite and all my book stuff like a charm. I will of course, post updates when I somehow manage to kill this one. LOL
