This Blog Is An Investment In My Future

So last night I went to my parents for dinner, mostly because my mom bribed me with goulash which is my favorite dish she makes.  Sitting out on the deck after dinner with my Dad, we got onto the discussion of my blog because I posted about him a couple days ago.  I explained to him my grande plan for this blog and why I spent so much time on it.

You see, eventually, I want this blog to make me money.  I mean, it makes me money right now (albeit, a small amount of money compared to what my living expenses are) but I could somehow, someway make this blog make me enough money that I could take a part time gig doing something I truly loved – instead of something that would just pay the bills.

After discussing with my Dad the following conclusions were reached:

- It would be fraud to state I had a baby when I didn’t, and therefore hop on the mommy blogger money

- This blog is an investment in my future, rather than something that pays off now

Then, when I got home, I worked on my novel for a little while until Eurymakos gave me the nightly “I’m home and there isn’t some other chick with me” call.  (Isn’t trying to take it slow and figure stuff out grand?)  We ended up talking about various business ventures that were possible, and we thought about other niche markets that I could get my blog in to make money if I didn’t end up having a kid.  Unfortunately, the only one that seemed feasible was cooking.  Unfortunately, I’m too mouthy to really turn this into just a cooking blog, and I don’t really have the time to cook every night.

So, I guess I’m stuck doing project management for the time being.  I mean, it pays the bills, right?
