My mother and I have had a constant discussion about the upcoming Presidential debate. With the absence of Fred Thompson in the field, my love has very obviously turned to Mitt Romney. He is my candidate, and although I believe he’ll have the nomination wrapped up by the time the Virginia primaries, I would vote for him there and I’ll vote for him against Obama when the time comes. My mother doesn’t think Mitt Romney has the chops to beat Obama [Click Comments To Continue]
Back in the day one of my favorite restaurants in DC was the now closed Les Halles. My parents went for the world class steak tar tar, and I mainly went for the banana flambe. In fact, when I lived in Alexandria, it was fairly common for me to hop the metro with a couple of my girlfriends and just hit Les Halles for desert. Anthony Bourdain was the executive chef for the Les Halles brand, and although he had great distain for the DC Les Halles, [Click Comments To Continue]
First off, none of you linked up on my previous post – which means you all suck, and I hope you all get sand in your vagina’s or chafed balls (depending on sex, obviously). Next – halloween is raptedly approaching and I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to do. Zack is DJing for Halloween for a couples costume is pretty much out, as he’ll be in the booth all night, and I’d like to be able to reuse whatever I do for actual Halloween where [Click Comments To Continue]
This morning I read this article off Fark about a woman who stalked her ex, as well as bashing in his windows with a tire iron. What really caught my eye though is that it mentioned in the article that she was a blogger, and her user name was woundedpoeticsoul. It sounded familiar, so I went and did a couple internet searches to find this woman – and realized, holy shit, I’ve read her blog. I think I found her commenting on some other blog, [Click Comments To Continue]
So recently, Jamie did a post on the best zombie movies. I was kind of saddened that the Dawn of the Dead remake wasn’t on there, because it was clearly one of the only zombie remakes worth a shit, but some people like their zombies slow moving and easy to get away from, and some people like them fast. (It’s all about your adventure level really – and probably how many Resident Evil video games you’ve played.) To tell the truth, I only have [Click Comments To Continue]
This week, the prompt for RemembeRED is “Just Before You Start” based on the Stephen King quote: ”The scariest moment is always just before you start. After that, things can only get better.” I could think of a million things in my life that I’ve done that would fit this post, but instead, I’m going to write about something that is going to happen. My parents are retiring. I’m not sure when, but sometime in the very near future, they are [Click Comments To Continue]
I was reading an article on fark today and one of the most interesting factoids was the cost of education – and how people think that student debt should be forgiven. I’ve long since been of the opinion that college is more often than not a waste of money and resources but one of the posts stood out more than all the others. The user ArkAngel wrote: “The answer is fewer people with higher education. We have gotten to a point where people [Click Comments To Continue]
Last night, amid the cries of sorrow over the loss of Steve Jobs, New Yorker’s were being arrested for storming Wallstreet even though the police had a barrier up. They were part of a protest called “Occupy Wallstreet” which is aimed at… well, I don’t know what it’s aimed at. In fact, most people don’t know what it’s aimed at. This article at the Washington Post claims their demands range from “ending wealth inequality” to “ending war”. Their [Click Comments To Continue]
Yesterday the recommended reading in my inbox was a man-hating article from CNN Opinion, “Why Men Are In Trouble”. It outlines the fall of mankind and the rise of womenkind – otherwise known as, “For the first time in history, women are better educated, more ambitious and arguably more successful than men.” I had planned to write a really long statistical analysis of this phenomena, until I talked about with Zack last night – to which he got [Click Comments To Continue]
Dear Reader, I have failed you. I meant to update over the weekend when Green Bay was crushing the competition, but I got distracted. Then, I meant to update last night, but I had to go to my parents house and hang out with them for a little, then to Walmart to buy stuff for my new cube. Yes – you read that right – new cube, because I got a new job! Now, it’s too soon to tell, but so far it seems pretty nifty. I’m doing the same [Click Comments To Continue]
